PGR'S FACILITIES

Our purpose-built facilities at South Moss Stud are designed with the owners in mind, as well as our horses.

Visit our stables at a time that suits you and bring along your family. Children are always welcome.

The stables were built in 2003, and so all of our 70 boxes are in first class condition. Purpose built to Peter’s specification, they are designed to keep your horse calm and ready for action. In fact, many owners have told us how relaxed their horses have been since coming to PGR.

To enable us to assess and train your horse, we have a 3-furlong all weather ‘cushion track’ circular gallop, situated in front of the owners’ lounge. In addition to this, just a short walk from the complex, is a 7-furlong dirt gallop.  This is where we can work the horses at speed, enabling Peter to gauge each horse’s ability and potential.

The indoor sand arena allows the team to safely break yearlings and is ideal in bad weather for exercising horses.

Other facilities include a covered horse exerciser to keep the horses active and a multi-speed treadmill which is capable of taking the horse from a gentle walk to a gallop.  This includes being able to angle it to simulate work on an incline. This hi-tech equipment is an essential part of Peter’s training arsenal.

The entire yard is laid with h-block rubber walkways to prevent injury to the horses.  Our vehicle fleet includes an Oakley fitted luxury horse box which keeps the animals happy on those long journeys between the yard and racecourses throughout Britain.
