ABOUT PGR & ITS FOUNDER, PETER GRAYSON
Peter Grayson Racehorses (PGR) is a racehorse training stable at Formby, Merseyside, which was set up in 2003 by Peter Grayson, the former international show jumper.
Peter competed at the top level of show jumping for many years, representing and winning for his country on a number of occasions. Now his skills with horses are being used to produce top flat racehorses.
The decision to move from show jumping to racehorse training was born out of frustration with the shortcomings of conventional racing stables. Peter decided to buck the trend and start doing things differently. Having followed the sport for years and as an owner himself, Peter was determined to improve the quality of care of not only the horses, but also of the owners and their families. PGR are now able to provide secure stabling and training for up to fifty horses on the seventeen acre site, all surrounded by the beautiful Formby countryside.
Whilst there are more than 100 trainers operating in Yorkshire and the North East, there are very few in the North West area especially in Lancashire, Merseyside, Greater Manchester and Cheshire. PGR aims to plug this gap by providing the best training experience anywhere in the region. |
